Michael B. Spellman, M.Ed., Ph.D.
Dr. Spellman has been in education since 1973, when he taught his first class. After earning his Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University's Teacher's College, Dr. Spellman went on to complete his doctorate at the University of Texas in Austin. Over the years, he has taught at all levels, from third grade through post-graduate.
Having also trained in Neuropsychology, Dr. Spellman brings an advanced level of knowledge to the programming at I Can Do It! Tutoring. Dr. Spellman believes that what we label as 'academic failure' is, most often, the product of a mismatch between the child's abilities and the curriculum to which the child is exposed. That is why he is so committed to making sure that each student at I Can Do It! Tutoring has a program that is tailored to his or her specific strengths and struggles.
Dr. Spellman says, "I am proud to be a part of I Can Do It! Tutoring. As a group we are professionals who are committed to helping children succeed academically so that they can succeed in adult life."
